Property People Don't Trust IT People

As a Result, The Customer is Seething

So much technology in the property industry... and yet customer experience is still woeful. It's not your fault, the fact is that property technology does NOT serve the customer NOT LEAST because IT is only a part of any great business service.

Thanks to some sneaky sales methods, somehow you have ended up subscribing to so many apps and systems you don't know what to do with them all. And that’s just your new systems, the older systems providers just take you for granted knowing it is hard for you to do anything about migrating from them.

Now you're employing more people to type data into them! Does anything really useful come out of this? Bits and pieces, perhaps, but it’s costing you thousands of pounds. You're feeding digital monsters.

The fundamental problem: You no longer trust anyone in the IT industry. And I don't blame you.

I get it. You don't want to spend money on IT. You don't value it - it's a cost. You're sceptical.

I’ve been in tech for 30 years, and I have helped many top UK businesses get the most from their technology through focussing on the overall business solution (people / process and digital). I have held roles such as CTO and Chief Digital Officer as well as working with start-ups and scale-ups like Padoq.

Here's a list of issues that are keeping you awake at night:

  1. You have app after app after app

And they're not helping. There’s an app for just about anything, each one wants to be the Sun in your Solar System but instead, they’re just one of many stars in the sky. Your staff have to try and navigate their way through all these apps to even make simple things happen.
  1. You don't have enough customer-facing staff

Your staff are too busy doing back-end admin on the apps. They’re shackled to these greedy monster like systems, feeding them data and not getting insight back out. Because you want to make a profit, and you have to feed insatiable black hole systems, then your investment in customers is obviously constrained!
  1. Thanks to paper-based and point-to-point interaction, customer service suffers

Property is synonymous with paperwork. It’s endless. It’s cumbersome and systematic plus not efficiently iterative nor collaborative, which means delays are rife. Too many chains that can break.
  1. You're spending money in the wrong places

You're likely spending too much time on the ‘as is’ instead of the 'what could be better? Additionally, you need a strategic North Star for what serves your customer’s best and what gives you the most profits to keep looking forwards.
  1. Key Takeout: You need OPPORTUNITY!

As a property company, there are several ways for you to make more money. But if you don't know what you don't know, then you cannot identify them nor access them affordably. It’s easy to get lost in Space between all those stars. We can work out how to fuse people and technology solutions as they go hand-in-hand.
